Due to water aggression of India, the water exit reached 2 lakh 78 thousand cusecs at the Ganda Singh Wala area. Section 144 has been imposed in the area for the protection of human lives. Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi reached Talwar Post Ganda Singh Wala on Saturday to take stock of the situation. Mohsin Naqvi visited the affected areas and met with the flood affectees at the flood relief camp and Ganda Singh Wala border village. Mohsin Naqvi inspected the flood relief camp and took stock of the water situation in the River Sutlej at Ganda Singh Wala site. Mohsin Naqvi directed to make adequate arrangement of edibles for the affectees. Mohsin Naqvi directed that fodder arrangements should also be made for the livestock adding that the livestock along with the people should also be shifted to safe places. CM Mohsin Naqvi said that after 35 years 2 lakh 78 thousand cusecs water has been recorded in River Sutlej. The evacuation of people will be ensured from the affected areas at every cost. It is our foremost priority to protect the lives of the people. The people should be shifted to safe places through boats. Mohsin Naqvi announced a special package for the heirs of the deceased Beldar of Irrigation department. CM Mohsin Naqvi directed Secretary Irrigation to utilize all necessary resources for making strong embankments. Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the performance of administration, police and officers of Irrigation department as well as staff members for remaining busy in the flood relief activities for the past 3 days. Mohsin Naqvi was given a briefing about the water situation in River Sutlej. It was informed in the briefing that 7800 people have been evacuated while 660 livestock have been shifted to safe places. Provincial Minister for Information & Local government Amir Mir, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Irrigation, Commissioner Lahore division, RPO, DG Rescue 1122, Deputy Commissioner Kasur, DPO and concerned officials were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi paid a detailed visit to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology and reviewed medical facilities in the hospital. Mohsin Naqvi inspected the ward and visited private rooms. It was decided to avail the services of more surgeons to end the backlog of bypass operations along with making upgradation of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. CM Naqvi granted approval to the said plan. In the first phase, the ground floor of the emergency will be upgraded. Mohsin Naqvi directed to bring improvements in the arrangements and facilities of the emergency ward. Naqvi directed to utilize available resources to improve the old building instead of making new constructions. Mohsin Naqvi lauded the efforts of the hospital administration in making operation theatres of PIC infection-free. Mohsin Naqvi visited the General Cardiac Surgery Ward, ICU, Emergency Ward and other departments of the hospital. Mohsin Naqvi inquired after the health of the patients and prayed for their early recovery. Mohsin Naqvi checked washrooms and beds of the wards and directed to replace old beds and old mattresses in the wards. The patients present in the ward complained about delay in the operations on which CM Mohsin Naqvi directed the hospital administration to conduct bypass operations within 7 days and angiography within 4 days.
