Sir: We lost to India after a tough fight. The team that performed better won the crucial semi-final. I find it very strange and disturbing that the weaknesses in our national cricket team have been known for quite a few years now. As we saw in the match against India, the inability of the batting order to stay at the wicket for long, lacklustre fielding and excessive no balls or wide balls have become symptomatic of team Pakistan. It is hard to fathom what is preventing our cricketers from overcoming these apparent weaknesses and become a team to reckon with. I hope the Pakistan Cricket Board will get down to training the current team with special focus on the weak areas to equip the team to beat their reputation as inconsistent. SALMAN YUNUS Lahore
