Last night, the 68th Filmfare Awards kicked off Bollywood’s award season. The films Gangubai Kathiawadi by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Badhaai Do by Harshavardhan Kulkarni were among the top winners. Gangubai Kathiawadi led the pack with ten trophies, including some of the night’s most important honors, including Best Film, Best Director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and Best Actress for Alia Bhatt. Rajkummar Rao received the Best Actor Award for his work in Badhaai Do. Meanwhile, Tabu and Bhumi Pednekar won Best Actress (Critics) for their performances in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Badhaai Do, respectively. Sanjay Mishra received the Best Actor award from the critics for his portrayal in Vadh. Veteran actor Prem Chopra was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Best Debut (Male) award was won by Jhund actor Ankush Gedam. Anek actress Andrea Kevichusa won the Best Debut (Female) Award. Gangubai Kathiawadi wins Filmfare Awards 2023.
