Sir: It is very difficult to express our profound grief over the loss of 61 precious lives in a deadly bombing at an Imambargah (a place of religious congregation) in Shikarpur. Human life seems to be worthless in Pakistan; attacks on schools and mosques and merciless killings of fellow countrymen will take us nowhere. The writ of the government is being continuously challenged through brazen attacks by terrorists. The terrorists have crippled the country and made our lives hell. We need strong and effective retaliation by adopting a united stance. This unfortunate attack has proved that terrorism has seeped into Sindh and engulfed this land from all sides. However, the compensation or any sort of material assistance can never be an alternative to precious human lives. This is a clear signal that the terrorists want to destabilise Pakistan. Already the memories of the school attack in Peshawar which claimed lives of 132 children have not faded away. It is high time all Pakistanis unite in their resolve against terrorism otherwise our country will sink deeper into a quagmire of violence and lawlessness. NASIR-UD-DIN SOOMRO Hyderabad
