Germany exempts Islamic markets from taxes during Ramazan

Published on: June 7, 2016 5:08 PM

BERLIN: Owners of Islamic markets and restaurants will be exempted from paying taxes during the month of Ramazan, a decision signed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to provide food at lower prices for Muslims.

According to Morocco World News, the German chancellor called for mutual appreciated of religions at a reception here on Tuesday, in the presence of representatives of different faiths.

She said a vast majority of Muslims were righteous and constitutionalist citizens, noting, “It is obvious that Islam undoubtedly has become one component of Germany.”

Merkel had also attended an Iftar meal in Berlin last Ramadan, calling on all Germans and Europeans to respect Muslims and Islam, which is “a part of Germany.”
