Gigi Hadid has appeared on Vogue Arabia, wearing an elegant veil. She is a half Palestinian and in total, she has been on 16 issues of Vogue.
Hadid shared a post on Instagram, expressing her hopes that Vogue Arabia will promote acceptance and respect for people of different cultures and customs. Vogue Arabia will show another layer of the fashion industry’s desire to continue to accept, celebrate, and incorporate all people & customs and make everyone feel like they have fashion images and moments they can relate to,” she wrote.
There have been people who questioned Vogue Arabia on their Instagram account that why an Arabian model wasn’t selected for the issue. Vogue has been accused of tokenism instead of true diversity.
American Vogue featured Hadid, Plus sized model Ashley Graham and seven other models for the march cover. One of the Twitter user posted, “@angelmuxoz called out the image with this imagined exchange: “The public to vogue: we need diversity!! Vogue: *gets Kendall and Gigi again*.”
