Pakistan to continue Iran-US facilitation, says Dar

Published on: April 25, 2026 5:00 PM

Pakistan has reaffirmed its role in facilitating Iran–US dialogue aimed at promoting regional peace and stability. The statement comes amid renewed diplomatic activity involving Tehran, Washington, and regional intermediaries. The development is significant as it positions Pakistan as a key facilitator in efforts to de-escalate ongoing regional tensions.

Ishaq Dar said Islamabad will continue supporting talks between Iran and the United States for constructive engagement. He emphasized that Pakistan’s efforts are focused on peace, stability, and reducing regional conflict risks. Dar also chaired a high-level meeting to review the evolving situation and coordinate diplomatic messaging.

The Foreign Office clarified that only official statements represent Pakistan’s position on the facilitation process. It warned against relying on unnamed sources or speculative reports circulating in media and social platforms. Authorities urged media outlets to avoid unverified claims and focus on confirmed diplomatic communications.

His discussions focused on regional developments and ongoing efforts to revive dialogue with the United States. The visit is seen as part of broader diplomatic engagement aimed at reducing tensions and restarting negotiations.
