ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has finalised inquiry against former minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat and former Managing Director (MD) Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) Ghulam Rasul Palphoto on illegal appointment of 130 persons in PHA and has given a final shape to the reference against them . As many as 130 persons were appointed in PHA in 2012 under the orders of Faisal Saleh Hayat who was then minister for housing. NAB authorities started investigation into the matter of recruitment of 130 persons on a newspaper clipping. During inquiry it came to light that majority of the people who were appointed hailed from Faisal Saleh Hayat’s constituency. NAB got credible evidence that neither the educational qualification prescribed for these posts nor was the age limit taken into consideration while appointing these 130 persons. Appointment letters were issued to overaged persons. NAB also came to know the most of the persons who were appointed held fake degrees. The investigation officers finalised their investigation and informed the high ups about the irregular and illegal appointments. A decision has been taken to file a reference against those found behind these illegal appointments. During the inquiry by NAB all of those who were appointed in 2012 admitted that they were recruited under a special order and some of them were appointed by paying bribe. When contacted NAB sources accepted that investigations into this case had been accomplished and a reference will be filed in the final stage. Reference will be forwarded to the chairman NAB for his final approval.
