ISLAMABAD: Senior officials of the FIA are giving undue favour to an accused who was described as delinquent by the FIA itself in a previous investigation. According to details, Shafiq Ahmed put the application with the FIA that Doctor Suman Sayyeda had been working in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore as medical officer. She obtained a fake experience certificate from Omer Hospital. She showed her wrong marital status and after securing the job, she went to the United Kingdom (UK) on passport number BV5179821. Furthermore, she also kept her official status as government employee hidden. The FIA conducted a thorough investigation and she was held as accused. The FIA submitted the challan form under Section 512 on July 23, 2015. Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered to put her name in the Interpol list, bring her back to Pakistan and conduct a trial. Credible sources said Suman Sayyeda was an influential lady and had strong contacts with an FIA senior official. Thereafter, the whole investigation was tampered and the investigation officer was changed. The FIA resubmitted the challan form under Section 512 on May 5, 2016, in which various provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code including 420/468/471 were changed. Previously, the FIA had already provided all the empirical evidences and legal grounds on which it included the sections of 420/468/471. Defence counsel of plaintiff Mian Ahmed Khan claimed that resubmission of the challan under the same section without addition of strong legal grounds was not possible according to the law.
