ISLAMABAD: By levelling the allegation of Benazir’s murder on Jamia-e-Haqqania, Federal Minister Pervez Rashid has expressed his negative thinking. The court as well as the international and local investigation agencies had cleared the seminary in the case of BB’s killing during the regime of the PPP. This was said by renowned Islamic scholar Hamid-ul-Haq , son of Maulana Samiul-Haq while talking to Daily Times. He said that after the meeting of the Shura, the Jamia would knock the door of the court against Pervez Rashid for defamation of the seminary as his remarks had caused a wave of panic among the ulema. “As a matter of fact he is levelling the baseless charges on the madrassa to hide his own black deeds. We will claim compensation though the court of law. The ulema condemn the information minister. Now the government is trying to hide its corruption and it is denigrating Islamic seminaries which would never be tolerated”, he added. He said that the KP government recently announced to give Rs 30 million for the madrassa , which is not any kindness or pettiness but it is the part of the programme of reforms of the provincial government. The aim of this grant is to bring the Islamic seminaries at par with the modern educational trends. Jamia e-Haqqania is not only one seminary which is taking money , but all the Islamic madrassas of the province are being funded by the government. He said that Benazir Bhutto gave Rs 10 million to Maulana Samiul-Haq for the construction of Dar-ul-Hadees Hall at Jamia-e-Haqqania. She had a respect for it. She often said to her secretaries that Maulana Samiul Haq managed to complete the hall with very meagre sources. He said that Jamia-e-Haqqania was a historical place and the largest seminary of the Islamic world, which imparted teaching to hundreds of thousands well known scholars. Its importance had been recognised internationally. It had started international classes of Hadees. It was never involved in the killing of Benazir Bhutto. The meeting of the Shura of Jamia-e-Haqqania would be held soon under the chairmanship of Maulana Samiul-Haq, in which the statement of Pervez Rashid would be reviewed.
