
ISLAMABAD: Renowned scholar and broadcaster Agha Nasir passed away in Islamabad on Tuesday. Agha Nasir started his career as a broadcaster in Radio Pakistan in 1955 and by the time television came to Pakistan in 1964, he had already made known for himself as a radio writer, broadcaster and producer. He directed different movies and worked with film stars including Waheed Murad and Talat Iqbal. Apart from direction, he was also an admired writer. His cultural pieces were very prominent and he also used to write poetry. Agha Nasir also contributed in designing the logo of PTV. He produced several drama serials such as ‘Girah’ and ‘Pani Peh Naam’. One of his directions, ‘Taleem-e-Balighan’ is considered as the one of the best stage dramas ever aired on PTV.
