ISLAMABAD: The Director Building Control Section (BCS) of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has filed a complaint with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad against the owner of Safa Gold Mall alleging him of threatening and blackmailing. Shafi Marwat, the Director Building Control Section has submitted a written complaint to the IGP Islamabad claiming that the owners of Safa Gold Mall Jinnah Super Market are threatening him as he supervised a sealing operation of said shopping mall over the outstanding dues and violations of building bylaws on Thursday. The Director stated that the owners of shopping center wants to blackmail him; whereas, it is also an apprehension that they can harm him physically, morally or otherwise. “I am afraid that there is a threat to my life and to the life of my family and my staff as well”, he stated in the application. He requested capital police that if any kind of harm is caused to him or his family, the first suspect shall be the owners of Safa Gold Mall, Abdul Qayyum and others. The sources inside the police department said that the high ups has directed the concerned police station to provide full security to the Director Building Control Section. The owner of Safa Gold Mall had already trapped an officer of the authority Iftekhar Haideri and he was caught red handed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while receiving bribe from Rana Abdul Qayyum. Sources inside the CDA has also told that a mob has also approached the office of the Director BCS to pressurize him, but he was not present in his office at that time; whereas, the staff of said director was also unavailable from the office.
