The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s (HRCP) fact-finding committee reported on Gul Sama Rind stoning case that due to clash and rifts among the tribal chiefs and political bigwigs over receiving royalty and other incentives from oil and gas multinational companies working along with Kheer Thar Ranges mountains, especially at Karo Koat, accidental death of nine-year-old Gul Sama Rind, daughter of Ali Bux Rind and a resident of Shahi Makan area of Karo Koat, was allegedly declared as honour killing through stoning. The fact-finding committee visited the Shahi Makan area of Karo Koat mountains, Wahi Pandhi, Johi and Dadu towns and collected facts related to Gul Sama Rind stoned to death case. The HRCP constituted the committee under Dr Abdul Majeed Chandio to know the reason of death of Gul Sama Rind. Imdad Chandio Alia Buxal, Hussain Musrat, journalists Farooq Soomro and Mahesh Kumar were the members of the committee those visited different areas and complied the report into death of Gul Sama Rind case. HRCP committee rejected the death of Gul Sama Rind through stoning to death, they reported that Gul Sama Rind was declared Karo-Kari and Jirga was not held. HRCP commission disclosed in its report that a journalists related with Wahi Pandhi area working on private TV channel at Karachi had wrong reported the death of Gul Sama Rind. HRCP disclosed that journalist also wrong reported that Gul Sama Rind was stoned to death on the pretext of Karo-Kari after holding Jirga. HRCP reported that local police of Wahi Pandhi came in pressure of news of journalists and lodged fake FIR of Gul Sama Rind as she was stoned to death on pretext of Karo-Kari. HRCP commission committee, met with local SHO Wahi Pandhi, DSP Johi and SSP Dadu and got information about case and finalized report.
