Philosophers and scientists have never been able to define time. What is time? This problem has always existed for the human mind, but what we know is that time never gets old like us. There are some people among us who live many years in a few moments, while there are some people who have not lived a single moment in many years. Life cannot be time-bound; this point is needed to be understood by philosophers and scientists so that life of an ordinary person could be easy. The way we have made life difficult, now we need a good psychologist to make it easier. The fact is that life has never been as difficult as it is now. Life is not just to be lived in name. Life is not just living. We are dying every day and every moment. We are less living and more dying; otherwise, we would never get old. Karl Marx said that the greatest problem in a person’s life is that of wealth and poverty; so as long as the rich and the poor remain, man cannot be peaceful. In the USSR, the concept of the rich and the poor was wiped out, but humans still could not be peaceful. Communism is now an old-fashioned story, and the capitalist system has again engulfed the whole world. Sigmund Freud said that the biggest cause of human suffering is human emotions. If a human being is left free, he becomes worse than an animal. And if humanity is taught to live in a civilisation, human emotions are suppressed. Freud’s verdict was that man could never remain calm. If the point ended at Marx and Freud, it was certain that man would never be able to be peaceful, but the point does not end here. Buddha said that as you start to see life outside of yourself you are stuck. When your first step goes wrong then you keep repeating the same mistake your entire life. Buddha said that whenever a human being observes life outside of his self, he would be sad. It makes you sad to see life outside of yourself. Buddha said that the essence of a human’s life is in self. Time is nothing; only our physical body becomes weak. When our body is weak, we think that we are old A person can be at peace for a little time, and may spend the rest of his life in torment. It is up to a person whether he chooses happiness or sorrow for himself. Life is not just about spending time, or a trifle to be wasted for any purpose. Life cannot have any purpose; life is the purpose. How then could it have any other purpose? Life is perfect. It is not moving from imperfection to perfection; it is moving from perfection to perfection. Humans just have to live. It doesn’t mean how much to live. Time is nothing; only our physical body becomes weak. When our body is weak, we think that we are old. This minute, these hours, this day, all of it is our own set of rules. Time has nothing to do with our lives. If we learn the art of living, we can live many centuries in a minute, but if we do not know how to live, we will continue to torment our body and mind every minute. We just have to learn to live, not to think about how much to live and for what purpose. In this world, most people die with only misery and regret; a person should always die in a calm and contented state. Life is beautiful. This is the basic principle of living; otherwise, man will suffer only for desire for life until he dies. For the first time in the world, Buddha taught humans to live. He not only taught how to live but also taught how to live a prosperous life. It is strange that at this time, the calmest person in the world is a French Buddhist monk, Dr Matthieu Ricard, a genetic engineer. Although there are many prominent religious and rational people in the world right now, the secret of a peaceful life was found only by a Buddhist monk. Buddha taught humans the engineering of living, how a human being could live a peaceful life. But sadly we have forgotten Buddha today. We only remember those who made human life very difficult, and we do not remember the person who spent his entire life just to put an end to the pain that was inside a person. Today, psychologists take pride in the names of Sigmond Freud, Carl Jung, Roberto, Assagioli and Alfred Adler, but not many paying attention to the teachings of a genuine psychologist like Buddha. On the basis of all my research and experience, I can say that up until now, if any human being knew to be a human, he was Gautama Buddha. The writer is a psychologist and a polymath
