Chairman PEF Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi said: Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) is the most successful & cost-effective model of free quality education in the country working under the School Education Department Punjab which has won international accolades and recognition. This model has been designed in accordance with the socio-economic needs and requirements of the society so that the needy segments could fully benefit from it. In fact, PEF is a real ‘success story’ which is efficiently serving to the masses. It’s also helping to achieve the vision and goals of Government of the Punjab. PEF has been working hard so that no deserving child is left without education and special attention is paid to the schooling of girls from low income families. The purpose is to enable needy students to transform themselves through this beneficial facility. Chairman PEF Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi said this while presiding a departmental meeting at PEFs head office. DMS (SS) Col (R) Imran Yaqub, DMD Finance Zubaid ul Hassan along with departmental heads was also present. Provincial Minister for School Education Dr. Murad Raas lauded PEF’s effort in promotion of quality education and further directed the partners to ensure that best educational facilities are provided to the students so that they could study and emerge as self-confident and useful citizens of the society. Furthermore, PEF Chairman expressed his satisfaction on the completion of Continuous Professional Development Program’s (CPDP) training targets for the financial year 2018-19 as well as the monitoring of 7,722 partner schools by Monitoring & Evaluation Department (M&E) department. He said that 7,838 Teachers and Head teachers of PEF Partner schools had been trained on TDP and SLP Level I & II Modules from 2,930 PEF partner schools by highly qualified Master Trainers. He reiterated that total 900 training sessions had been conducted in different cluster centers of Punjab to complete the training targets in time. Moreover, 11,108 PEF partner school teachers have been mentored in School Mentoring Activity of 1685 PEF partner schools. In order to gauge training impact 685 follow up sessions have been conducted. PEF has also strengthened the low cost private schools by improving their teaching capacity as well as ensuring that congenial atmosphere is arranged for the students, he concluded. Imran Yaqub further briefed PEF Chairman regarding the achievements of M&E department. He informed that only 153 MEOs successfully completed the monitoring of 7,722 partner schools in the short span of just 30 working days. Modern digital applications were utilized to verify school enrollment, infrastructure, basic facilities and security measures of partner schools. Monitoring data had been cross verified with previous data to track changes and progress of partner schools.
