Sweden based manufacturing company Ecolean has set to launch its first ecofriendly packaging plant in Pakistan with an investment of 110 million US dollars.
This was disclosed by company manager Zeeshan Asif during a briefing with a group of journalists. He said that it was the first packaging supplier in the world to review the whole system with detailed analysis and description in Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), encompassing the lightweight packages as well as filling machines.
Zeshan briefed that company’s mission was to provide the world with safe and convenient packaging solutions for liquid food with minimal environmental impact. He informed that this will help in reducing the packaging waste up to 50 percent than traditional packages which would leave positive impacts on country’s environment.
Ecolean is a Swedish company, founded in Helsingborg, Sweden in 1996. The headquarters are located in Helsingborg and the company has production sites in Sweden and China while a production plant in Lahore is under construction. It is expected that the factory will become online by July this year.
