Parizad is one of Hashim Nadeem’s most recognised books, based on the story of a man who lacks value in his village. The mere mention of his name or whenever he came around, got everyone laughing hysterically and making fun of him. It was easy for him to be demoralized but he was patient and ignored. The writer’s expression is quite strong and brings out the reader’s sentiments. The main character of the book is Parizad. The name may define ultimate beauty but the character is far from it. He is a dark boy with acne on his face. He belongs to a lower class family and the fact that his name is Parizad, makes him the butt of every jokes.Whenever he meets someone new, they end up mocking either his name, looks or personality but Parizad remains hopeful for a better tomorrow. In order to prove his worth, Parizad tells his parents that he will pay his college fees himself after Matriculation. But he knew, “he had to face the grief of insulation again.” Somehow he managed to keep himself compact in witty comments of other about his personality and joined the college. Things change for Parizad when he meets Nasaz at college. Nasaz is the first person who sees the good in him and is not bothered about Parizad’s flaws.Nasaz encourages him to read and write poetry.Parizad listens and begins reading and writing poetry. Before he knows it, he becomes famous in his city as a young poet. But regretting after being famous he faced some scare and ignorance from people which he faced before. He realised that people just love those who have money and he thought that now he will get rich in any rate then people will also love him and give respect to him. A long time passed and Parizad decided to return back to his soil means Pakistan with a new identity. This time he observed love for him in the eyes of the people was just for his money not for himself. These things totally broke Parizad heart and he knew that with his ugly face no one will love him. At last Parizad left his business ratings and say out an unknown journey. Mocking complements, teasing looks made poor soul to die on a railway station in a stormy night. Parizad story got finished but it is really heartbreaking in this big world, in his entire life no one had care about his emotions, feelings, goodness just because of his uncommitted crime that was his ugliness.
