BAMAKO: A bomb explosion in a military camp in Mali’s northern city of Gao killed 25 people and injured scores. According to a statement by Mali’s military, the incident occurred when a vehicle packed with explosives was detonated near a military camp. The camp where the explosion occurred was housing government soldiers along with members of various rival armed groups, who were conducting mixed patrols in light of a UN-brokered peace accord aimed at putting an end to violence in Mali’s restive north.
