A 35-year-old woman was gunned down while resisting a robbery attempt in the precinct of Sanda police on Saturday. According to police, the deceased, identified as Nasreen Bibi of Sanda area was alone at her house when two dacoits barged into her home and tried to snatch cash and valuables. The victim offered resistance at which dacoits opened fire at her. The dacoits managed to escape after looting valuables. The injured was taken to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injures. Police registered a case against unidentified persons on the complaint of deceased’s husband. The body was sent to a city mortuary. It was learnt through the reliable police sources that criminal’s gangs working in the outskirts of the city collaborate with each other and target the posh and urban localities of Lahore on a daily basis. Separately, four dacoits barged into the house of in Defence C and looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth more than Rs 0.6 million. In another incident, robbers looted Rs 0.4 milion worth of valuables from a house in Khana area. Published in Daily Times, December 9th 2018.
