The concluding ceremony of a five-day training course on ‘Law of Evidence’ was held here at the Federal Judicial Academy on Saturday. The training was conducted from November 6-9, attended by 25 civil judges-cum-magistrates from all over Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and PAF JAG Branch officers. In his remarks, Director General of the Academy Hayat Ali Shah highlighted the importance of the training. “For us, the perfect role model as a judge is Holy Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) who revolutionized the fate of the entire humanity. He accorded a lot of importance to evidence in any case. You must read a famous book titled ‘The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History’ authored by Michael H Hart. I hope this training was useful for you. It would have galvanized you and strengthened your skills about a very important subject which is the backbone of the justice system,” he said. Federal Shariat Court Registrar Aymon Zia, who was the chief guest at the ceremony, paid glowing tributes to Holy Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) for his matchless services to the humanity.“Honesty is a must for a judge, and closely associated with the honesty is the courage to cope with the inclement situations and circumstances. Courage is the hallmark of a judge. A judge must be firm and courageous,” he said. At the conclusion of the training, participants were awarded certificates.
