ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday discussed measures taken against the banned outfits. Bajwa called on Nawaz at Prime Minister’s House and discussed the internal security issues in details, sources told Daily Times. Both discussed the hurdles in the implementation of the National Action Plan. They decided that the hurdles would be removed. The action against banned outfit leaders also came under discussion. Under NAP, no banned outfit is allowed to work under any new name and Pakistan was already fulfilling the international commitments in this regard, sources quoted Nawaz as saying. Bajwa informed Nawaz about the intelligence-based operations and combing operations across the country under NAP. He added that the coordination between army and intelligence agencies has improved. The latest situation on Line of Control and Pakistan-Afghanistan border also came under discussion and there was a consensus that Pakistan would take all steps to ensure its security and defence. Nawaz praised scientists, engineers and strategic planning division on the successful test of latest missile Ababeel.
