The semester topper of academic year 2017-18 in all batches of the BS and MSc programs at PUCIT were honored in a graceful ceremony held in Senate Hall at Allama Iqbal (Old) Campus. Only 28 students, less than 1% percent of the student body, make it to Vice Chancellor’s List, the highest honors list at PUCIT, every semester. These students were awarded certificates and twenty thousand cash prizes from the college funds. PUCIT is the only academic unit at the University of the Punjab that recognizes highest semester achievers. Lt. Gen. (R) Arshad Mahmood, former Vice Chancellor, was the Chief Guest. In his speech, he stressed the need to hone innate abilities of students in the academic disciplines of their liking and develop their skills accordingly. He told the students that this was the only way for them to achieve excellence in their professional lives. Principal PUCIT, Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, admired the dedication and hard work of high achievers, and said that their academic brilliance contributes to reputation that the college enjoys. He encouraged students to transition their distinction into their professional lives, think out-of-the-box, and be the thought-leavers, developers, and writers of new software technologies that give new dimensions to human living in meaningful ways and make a mark in the world of information technology.
