James Anderson on Monday in the fifth and final Test against India has leveled with the former Australian pace bowler Glenn McGrath as the fourth highest wicket-taker in test history.
Jimmy Anderson leveled with Glenn McGrath after taking his 563rd Test wicket.
Anderson took down Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara in same over to attain the record.
It is expected that Anderson will surpass McGrath during the course of the fifth test.
Anderson becomes England’s most successful bowler in his 143rd Test.
McGrath recently hailed Anderson, predicting none would come close to Anderson’s record once he goes past him.
In comparison, it is interesting to note that McGrath has been mighty successful in England with stats of 14 tests, 87 wickets @ 19.34, eight five-wicket innings hauls. However, Anderson has struggled in Australia mainly because of conditions that do not support swing bowling, his stats in Australia are 18 tests, 60 wickets 35.43, one five-for.
