ISLAMABAD: Reshuffle in the federal bureaucracy continues as the federal government transferred police chiefs of KPK, Punjab and Sindh on Friday. “BPS-21 officer of Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) Punjab Kaleem Imam has been transferred and posted as Inspector General Police (IGP) of Sindh,” an establishment notification says. Imam was appointed as Punjab police chief by the caretaker government in order to keep police neutral during July 2018 elections. Earlier he served as IG of Motorway police during 2017-18. Muhammad Tahir has been appointed as new Inspector General of Punjab police. A notification has been issued in this regard. He has earlier served as IGP of KPK. Establishment division sources told daily Times that Tahir has been transferred to Punjab with a task of bringing improvement in Punjab police and to make it more people friendly. He is considered a professional police officer. Salauddin Mehsud has been appointed as new IG of KPK police. He was serving as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the establishment division.
