LARKANA: Government Muslim Higher Secondary School students, teachers and parents of Muhammad Essa Memon organised a large rally outside the Larkana Press Club on Wednesday against Memon’s alleged enforced disappearance a day earlier. They organised a peaceful demonstration holding banners in their hands and were chanting slogans which said ‘release our teacher’ and ‘release our baba’. His mother Aysha Memon, wife Yasmin Memon, sister Ashraf Khatoon, daughters Muskan and Bakhtawar, brother Saif Memon, social workers Hyder Joyo, Sindh United Party (SUP) leader Dr. Mazhar Mughal, Khadim Ghangro, Liaquat Khokhar, Manzoor Shaikh and others said Memon was whisked away by masked men from Municipal High School library. Government Secondary Teachers Association (GSTA) leaders G M Abro, Samad Khokhar and others condemned the disappearance. Manzoor Mangi, Yasir Junejo and others of Sindhi Adabi Sangat (SAS) said that Essa Memon has remained SAS secretary of Bakrani and Dokri chapters twice and has authored over six books which teaches serving mankind and humanity without discrimination. Memon was also working as honorary lecturer to prepare himself for PhD and M.Phil at Larkana branch of the Sindh University. They all demanded immediate release of Essa Memon.
