
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday served a notice to home secretary Punjab to furnish a reply regarding the public execution of Imran, who kidnapped, raped, and murdered a minor (Zainab) in Kasur. Moreover, IHC has also asked the secretary for a quick response to the notice.
Justice Anwar-Ul-Haq presided over the hearing of Zainab’s father petition who previously asked for the public execution of Imran.
During the hearing, the defense counsel informed the court that all of Imran’s requests have been rejected by different courts and according to Counter Terrorism Act he can be hanged publically.
The judge then asked assistant advocate general Punjab whether Imran’s death warrants were issued or not, he was ordered to submit the required information to the court.
The hearing was adjourned till June 28.
