
HYDERABAD: Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) candidate from PS-55 Tharparkar, Arbab Anwar on Saturday shared his plans to bring reforms in wild life and education education sector in his area.
Talking with Daily Times, Anwar termed Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) government’ tenure as worst era of Pakistan’s history ever.
“People are disappointed from the performance of the PPP in last ten-years,” said the candidate.
He added that PPP always supported an outsider candidate in Tharparkar rather than giving chance to a local.
Anwar said that after winning the contest he would make sure provision of electricity to 97% areas of Nangarparkar, and would establish grid station in Dahli.
While quoting the report published by Thar Education Alliance (TEA) pertaining to the status of education in PS-55 constituency, the candidate said that there are total of 701 schools in Nanagrparkar. Out of which, 578 lack proper water facilities, 484 schools are without electricity. Whereas, 420 of the 701 schools are without any boundary walls and more than 357 schools are deprived of sanitary facilities.
“My first priority is education, I will provide the facilities of education on merit bases,” said Anwar.
While stressing on the need of a legal framework for the safety of wild life he assured that he would take adequate steps to prevent wild life in his area.
When approached to Arbab Fazal, a member of Arbab group, he said: “Arbab family has played a vital role in the establishment of district Tharparkar since 1936 when Late Arbab Khansahib Togachi became the member of legislative assembly of Sindh. Togachi was also the signatory of the Pakistan Movement and merging of Sindh into Pakistan. Moreover, Arbab Ghulam Rahim, after being elected as chief minister, built the whole infrastructure of Tharparkar. i.e. roads, school buildings, water filtration plants.”
