PS-10 approves the nomination form of Faryal Talpur

Published on: June 19, 2018 8:56 PM

LARKANA: The Returning Officer, PS-10 has rejected the objections of Qadir Bux Bhatti and approved the nomination form of Faryal Talpur who is the sister of PPPP Chief Asif Ali Zardari.

PS-10, after hearing arguments of both sides on last day of scrutiny which was  held at Ratodero on Tuesday. Senior advocate Ghulam Dastagir Shahani appeared for Bhatti and Farooq H.

Naik for Talpur. Shahani repeated the allegations that properties of Faryal Talpur are in the name of her employee Ghulam Abbas Zardari and she is holding attorney powers.

He further contended that Faryal Talpur is an executive director of a company named Ayesha in Dubai. He  added that Ayesha is daughter of Ms. Talpur.

Shahani said that Faryal has not declared all her assets hence she is neither Ameen nor Sadiq and her nomination form be rejected as per requirements of article 62 and 63 of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Giving his arguments, Farooq H. Naik rejected the claims of advocate Shahani and said that vote of the applicant Qadir Bux Bhatti is not registered in PS-10. He said referred company was closed in 2013 therefore Iqama also seized to exist since 2013.

Naik further said that the properties mentioned in the objection do not belong to Faryal Talpur but the owner is Abbas Zardari adding if they have any other evidence they should produce the same here before the court.

Naik contended that objections have been filed on the basis of old documents which carry no importance. He said NAB, State Bank and FBR have also cleared his client as neither arrears of government loans are outstanding against her, nor tax is pending nor she has been punished by NAB.

Therefore, there is nothing to reject the nomination form of his client Faryal Talpur and it should be accepted. After hearing both sides’ detailed arguments, the RO ordered acceptance of nomination form of PPP candidate Faryal Talpur for PS-10 and rejected the objections raised by her opponent candidate Qadir Bux Bhatti. PPP Larkana district president Abdul Fatah Bhutto withdrew from the contest and form of ex-MPA Muhammad Ali Bhutto was also approved.
