Begum Kulsoom Nawaz fighting for life on ventilator

LONDON: Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz on Thursday night was shifted to intensive care unit (ICU) of a London hospital after a cardiac arrest.

The news developed on social media as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif  shared it on twitter that Begum Kulsoom had collapsed in the ICU and not regained consciousness since.

PML-N President made and earnest request for prayers for his sister-in-law.

According to sources, Nawaz’s ailing wife after the cardiac arrest was shifted to a ventilator, life support machine .

Earlier  on Wednesday, former PM’s wife was readmitted to the hospital after her condition deteriorated, due to which she was taken to the emergency unit where she was being constantly monitored.

Ami had a sudden cardiac arrest this morning when we were on the flight & is in ICU & on the ventilator since. Earnest request for duas.

PML-N President also took it to twitter requesting the nation to pray for Kulsoom Nawaz’s health and speedy recovery.

My Bhabhi Begum Kalsoom Nawaz is being kept in ICU due to her serious condition. The whole family is praying for her recovery.
As the Holy Month of Ramadan comes to an end, I ask my compatriots to join me in prayers for her speedy recovery. The power of prayer is paramount!

Even Pakistan Tehreek-e-Pakistan (PTI) chief Imran Khan shared it on twitter, sending out prayer for Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

All our prayers are with Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. May Allah grant her Shifa e Kamila.

In 2017, Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with throat cancer after which she was undergoing treatment in London.

Earlier, on Wednesday night Nawaz and Maryam had departed for London to celebrate Eid with his ailing wife, after seeking exemption from the accountability court.
