In a huge blow to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), former prime minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali has decided to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
The former premier is likely to formally join the party along with his close aides in a couple of days after a meeting with party chief Imran Khan at Bani Gala.
PTI provincial president Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind spoke with Jamali on Thursday, wherein the latter hinted at joining the Imran-led political party. Both the leaders agreed to meet soon to discuss relevant matters and plan a meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, PTI Additional Secretary Information Faisal Javed Khan also made the announcement of former prime minister’s joining the party. “Welcome to Ex PM of Pakistan and Sr. Politician Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. He had left PML-N over principles despite being in Power. Jamali sab is a good addition to our team,” he tweeted.
Jamali resigned from the National Assembly On May 16 over what he claimed Balochistan province being ignored in the budget for fiscal year 2018-2019. “I want to stop the budget from implementation,” he had said at that time. “Members of the assembly are speaking lies and institutions are being maligned. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman is appointed by PM and opposition leader and if they are not satisfied with his performance, then they both should tender resignations,” he had demanded.
