KHAIRPUR: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Nawab Khan Wasan on Sunday vowed to sweep the polls in the 2018 general elections and claimed that many prominent politicians, belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN), have been in contact with PPP to join the party. A ceremony was held to welcome the ambulance into service at the Civil Hospital in Khairpur, where he addressed the media and said that PPP carried out a record development work during its tenure. “PPP served the general public and provided employment opportunities to the youngsters of the country for fulfilling the objectives of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” he remarked while adding that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari follows the path of his mother to accomplish her goals. He claimed that PPP believes on power and rule of the people, and therefore struggles solely for the general public to ensure fundamental facilities for them. “Law and order situation of Sindh has improved and emergency has been imposed to promote education,” he added. Later, Nawab visited a temple of Hindu Community. The Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Hussain Abro, Seth Mehro, Seth Kewal, Turab Rind and a large number of people were present on the occasion. Tortured body found The dead body of a 25-year-old youth was recovered on Sunday under mysterious conditions from a garden of date palms near Baberloi bypass at national highway. Reportedly, passersby saw a body and informed the area police. The Baberloi police shifted the body to the Gharhi Mori Hospital for autopsy. The police sources claimed that the deceased was brutally tortured before his death. Meanwhile, further investigation into the matter is underway. Man drowns A man drowned on Sunday in Keenjhar Lake commonly known as Kalri Lake, situated in the Thatta district of Sindh. Reportedly, Ghulam Qambar Rajper, a resident of Rasoolabad, went to the lake along with his friends, where he allegedly slipped, plunging to his death.
