LONDON: Crystal Palace’s on-loan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has returned to training after fully recovering from an ankle injury that has kept him out of action since December, he told the club’s website (www.cpfc.co.uk). The 22-year-old, on a season-long loan from champions Chelsea, has made 16 Premier League appearances this season. He sustained the injury in December’s 3-2 defeat to Arsenal. “My right ankle took a little bit of a fracture and it has taken a while but thankfully I am back now and that is the good thing,” he said. “It was scary because we didn’t know how long it would take and what was the best road to go down but I went back to Chelsea for physio and rehab and worked hard to get back.” Loftus-Cheek’s return will be a boost for 18th-placed Palace as they battle to retain their top-flight status. They visit Huddersfield on Saturday. Published in Daily Times, March 14th 2018.
