RAWALPINDI: Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said that despite NAB and JIT references, corruption of worth even one rupee has not been proved against Nawaz Sharif. Speaking to Social Media Workers Convention, Marriyum said that NAB and JIT have filed numerous references against Nawaz, but have failed to prove allegations of corruption against the former PM. Marriyum added that a political party which is lead by Nawaz, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and leader Hanif Abbasi can not be defeated. Lauding the Sharif brothers, the lawmaker said that Nawaz and Shehbaz have initiated various development project across Punjab, which have received international recognition. She added that the party would not allow former PM Nawaz to be ‘treated the same way as other ex-PMs during the country’s history’. Taking jibes at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, the information and broadcasting minister said that PML-N has a direct rival in someone who ‘utters derogatory remarks against state institutions and who does not respect the sanctity of public vote.’
