
LAHORE: A Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) local leader was allegedly harassed by a group of men during party rally at Pattoki on Tuesday.
The women claimed that she was shoved and cursed by a group of men after newly appointed interim president of the Nawaz league, Shehbaz Sharif concluded his speech at PML-N rally in Pattoki.
The victim requested Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz to take action against the alleged harassers.
Hours later, Punjab government announced via their official Twitter account that an FIR has been lodged against the accused, while the police has arrested a man identified as Mohsin accused of harassing the party worker.
With reference to the incident @ Pattoki jalsa today where a woman was harassed and manhandled, Police has registered a case FIR No. 114/18 under sections 354/294/341/506/147/149 PPC PS City Pattoki against all those accused. Speaking regarding the incident, Maryam Nawaz said that harassment of any kind is against the party culture and promised that those guilty of committing such an act would be punished by the authorities.
