DUBAI: Multan Sultans captain Shoaib Malik has won the toss and elected to bowl first against defending champions Peshawar Zalmi in the opening match of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) third edition being played at Dubai.
Zalmi, under the leadership of all-rounder Darren Sammy, had lifted the last year’s PSL trophy after defeating Quetta Gladiators in front of a charged crowd at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Shahid Afridi is not the part of the Zalmi’s squad as he has quitted to Karachi Kings.
Shoaib Malik is leading the Multan Sultans, who are making their debut in the tournament. Malik has the assistance of several foreign players including South Africa’s off-spinner Imran Tahir.
