LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah constituted a full bench to hear pleas of students of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Lahore (BZU) campus, seeking reorganisation of their degrees. The full bench comprising Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti and Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan will hold proceedings on the students’ petitions from Tuesday (today). The bench will hear the petitions of students against the university administration after the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) declared the campus illegal and closed it for students. They challenged their non-enrollment at disputed sub-campus of BZU in Lahore. The petitioners claim that their future was at stake after the closure of the Lahore campus. “No one is inclined to redress their grievances,” he said. Their counsel said that the petitioners had paid huge fees to the university and attended classes, but they had been deprived of their degrees despite all this.
