LAHORE: The Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has introduced uniforms for its 1,300 employees. In this regard, ward boys, office staff, ward aya, security guards and sweepers will now be bound to wear the new uniforms. This was stated by Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof Ghaisun Nabi Tayyab on Sunday. He added that the step would help in establishing discipline and it would also improve the standard of services for the patients. According to the details, all ward boys would wear white shalwar kameez with black waist coats, black sweaters, black joggers and black socks. The office staff will be wearing white shalwar kameez and black shoes and socks. Similarly, the ward aya would wear off-white shalwar kameez, dupatta, black sweater and black joggers and black socks. All security guards of Lahore General Hospital will use sky blue shirts, navy blue trousers, black shoes, black socks, navy blue sweaters, and navy blue caps with the hospital monogram. While all sweepers will be wearing navy blue shalwar kameez, yellow jackets, black sweaters, black shoes and black socks. All the uniform will be provided by the Lahore General Hospital. A notification in this regard has also been issued. The PGMI principal called it a good step towards making the environment of the hospital more friendly and congenial for the patients. He said that the Lahore General Hospital had improved a lot in the recent past. In future, such steps would continue to make more changes which could upgrade the standard of the hospital.
