Goals for the New Year

Published on: December 25, 2017 9:46 PM

Another chapter closes forever. What’s left behind for us is to recall the memories made whether good or bad. Above all, the most fascinating thing is to figure out what you learned, experienced, lost and achieved in the last year.

The ‘New Year’ is the beginning of a special occasion where everyone will encounter countless blessings. Whatever last year brought us, it’s time to shed past baggage of all our sorrows in the wake of the coming year and hope for the best to follow in 2018.

To kick it off with a banging new start, there will always be New Year resolutions, strategies and bucket-list-boxes to be ticked off. Here are a few:

Make a promise to yourself of losing weight:

Celebrations always bring ahead tempting menus loaded with sweets that one can’t resist. While enjoying New Year’s Eve, many people reach their fat-gain breaking point. It’s hard to go on a diet but one can at least make a tight schedule of keeping balance. Start exercises at home or join a gym. It will never disappoint you as long as you stick to your schedule.

Travel and explore the World:

It’s alluring to step out of the box and explore the world inquisitively. Especially for those who are tired of daily drudgery and haven’t been anywhere lately, make sure that whatever plans you make, you accomplish them successfully and in a determined way. Get glued to your goals until you achieve them.

Dress to impress:

Don’t waste yourself. No matter how busy your schedule is or how tough your work makes you dance to its tunes, take out time for yourself. 30 minutes a day, at the least, would be perfect. Let your inner-self come out, don’t lose yourself in the daily hubbub of life. Go with the trend and follow themes according to your plans. Whether you need to attend formal meetings, weddings, parties or hang out with your peers, come up with the best because you’re worth it.

Validate people in your life:

Don’t be selfish with yourself or with those who deserve importance in your life. Neglecting them would turn the tables around and make things worse for both ends, so always make your loved ones feel special by letting them know how important they are. Meeting them every day is not necessary, you can make plans on an occasional basis. This will surely strengthen your relationships.

Don’t judge anyone:

Judging is never appreciated by anyone. Even if we peep into history, great scholars have also believed that ‘no one has the right to judge anyone’. Judging a person at any course depicts one’s own insecurities which is inappropriate. It doesn’t suit a sensible person. One should spend the time to improve oneself rather than wasting precious time by judging others.

Don’t criticize yourself:

You are precious, your life is precious. The sad part is that you have become the biggest critic of your own self. It’s never too late to realise this, plus nothing is impossible. All one needs is persistence and sincere efforts into improving themselves and wiping off all the follies committed in life. Opportunities will automatically chase you.

Catch proper sleep:

To alleviate mental stress is the healthiest activity for your body so don’t neglect it. Be a morning person, follow your circadian rhythm. This will keep you active and smart, physically and mentally.

Adopt water therapy:

If you have a habit of eating junk food, staying up late at night, drinking soda, smoking and a lot more, you need to have a water therapy every day. Whenever you wake up, never forget to have at least 3 to 4 glasses of water. This will benefit your body organs and keep your body balanced vigorously.

Start a Savings Account:

Living in a developing country already drenched in turmoil and facing economic losses is a great deal. One should plan to start squirreling money away for a rainy day or more or less, their retirement. Starting to save from bits would eventually add up to a huge amount over the long run.

Get a counselor:

If you have bigger plans or goals and need a push to accomplish then, then interact with a person who has already been through this channel. We have a habit of feeling too proud to get advice, but keeping a mentor in your life will not only give you encouragement but also help you achieve your goals and be determined.
