The third anniversary of the Army Public School carnage that claimed lives of 147 persons, mostly schoolchildren, is being observed today.
People are tweeting in solidarity with the APS martyrs and their families and are paying tribute to children who went to school but never came back.
Here are some of the most heart-wrenching tweets below:
How can we ever forget? This is a tragic reminder to all of us to stop feeding the monsters who don’t think before killing children! May the world never ever have to see a day like this again. Ameen. #APSPeshawar pic.twitter.com/cZOVxJBu9g

Today I pray no child and no parent, from any nationality or any religion, would have to go through this ever again. #16December2014 #APSPeshawar pic.twitter.com/KujYtrQByP

We hold the children of the Army Public School in Peshawar close to our heart. The Peshawar Zalmi Foundation flew out 152 APS students to Dubai for the #HBLPSL opening ceremony. We have and will continue to do our bit in #BringingBackSmiles on their faces. #APSPeshawar #APAZalmi pic.twitter.com/7kJSrzXCaL

Picture of a martyred boy (who had a striking resemblance to my own son) amidst the piled up bodies of children at #APSPeshawar never ceases to send shivers down my spine. We can’t ever even begin to understand the pain of a parent who lost a child that way… 💔🙏🏻
