The prices of gold witnessed a notable decline in the local market on Thursday, with 24 karat gold per tola decreasing by Rs 2,300 to settle at Rs 452,936 from Rs 455,236 on the previous trading day, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold fell by Rs 2,070 to Rs 387,615 from Rs 389,685, whereas 10 grams of 22 karat gold declined by Rs 1,880 to Rs 355,515 from Rs 357,395. In the international market, the price of gold decreased by $23 to $4,305 per ounce from $4,328 per ounce. Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola decreased by Rs 144 to Rs 7,359 from Rs 7,503 while the price of 10 grams of silver fell by Rs 123 to Rs 6,268 from Rs 6,391. The price of silver in the international market also declined by $1.44 to $68.80 per ounce from $70.24 per ounce, the association reported.
