The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has reduced electricity prices by Rs1.98 per unit and issued an official notification. The reduction matters because it will provide financial relief to millions of consumers facing high energy costs. Households and businesses across Pakistan, including K-Electric users, will benefit from the decision.
According to the notification, the tariff reduction has been approved under the quarterly adjustment mechanism for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The revised rates are aimed at easing the burden on electricity consumers. Authorities said the adjustment reflects changes in power sector costs during the review period.

Furthermore, consumers will receive the relief in their electricity bills for June, July, and August. The temporary reduction is expected to lower monthly energy expenses for residential, commercial, and industrial users. Officials believe the measure will help reduce pressure on household budgets during the summer season.
The notification stated that the decision applies nationwide and covers customers served by all electricity distribution companies. In addition, K-Electric consumers will also receive the same relief under the approved adjustment. The move ensures that consumers across different regions benefit equally from the tariff reduction.
