The actress will join a strong Bollywood presence at this year’s edition, which continues to highlight the growing global visibility of Indian cinema.

Veteran actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will also attend the festival, continuing her long-standing association with Cannes as a global ambassador for L’Oréal. She has been a regular presence on the red carpet for more than two decades and remains one of the most recognised Indian faces at the event.

Alongside Bhatt and Rai Bachchan, several other Indian film personalities are expected to attend the festival. Tara Sutaria is reportedly set to make her Cannes red carpet debut ahead of her upcoming film “Toxic”.

Filmmaker Karan Johar is also expected to be present, along with actors Mouni Roy and Pooja Batra, adding further star power to the Indian contingent.

This year’s festival lineup also reflects a broader representation of Indian regional cinema. Punjabi and Gujarati film industries are expected to be showcased, highlighting the expanding international reach of India’s diverse film sectors.

Malayalam cinema will also feature at the Cannes Film Market, with filmmaker Chidambaram presenting his upcoming project “Balan: The Boy”, following the success of “Manjummel Boys”.

The Cannes Film Festival, held annually on the French Riviera in France, is one of the most influential global platforms for cinema, bringing together filmmakers, actors, producers, and distributors from around the world.

The 2026 edition of the festival is scheduled to take place from May 12 to May 23, and is expected to feature a mix of international premieres, screenings, and industry events.
