
The annual Hajj operation for 2026 has officially commenced from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, as thousands of pilgrims begin their spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia. The first flight, operated by a private airline, is scheduled to depart at 3:00 AM, marking the start of this year’s large-scale operation.

Pilgrims started arriving at the airport late Saturday night, with immigration and clearance procedures already underway. Authorities have put in place comprehensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and efficient process for travelers. Officials from the Airport Authority, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Customs, and the Federal Investigation Agency are present on-site to facilitate pilgrims at every step.
According to officials, around 31,000 pilgrims are expected to depart from Karachi during the Hajj season. Special counters, guidance services, and logistical support have been arranged to assist travelers, particularly elderly pilgrims. The Governor Sindh is also scheduled to see off passengers of the inaugural flight.
Meanwhile, preparations in Saudi Arabia are also complete. The General Directorate of Passports has activated reception services for Hajj 1447H, with flights from Pakistan, Indonesia, and other countries set to arrive in the Kingdom.
Saudi authorities have implemented modern digital systems at airports to streamline immigration and customs procedures. These measures aim to significantly reduce waiting times and ensure a seamless entry experience for pilgrims. Immigration counters across air, land, and sea routes have been fully activated.

Officials further stated that trained staff will be available around the clock to guide pilgrims throughout their journey. With coordinated efforts between Pakistani and Saudi institutions, authorities are confident that this year’s Hajj operation will proceed in an organized and efficient manner.
