PM Shehbaz meets Saudi crown prince in Jeddah

وزیراعظم کی سعودی ولی عہد سے ملاقات، مشرق وسطیٰ کی صورتحال اور ایران امریکا مذاکرات سے متعلق گفتگو

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a key meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, where both leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East and ongoing Iran-US negotiations.

The meeting took place at Qasr-e-Islam Palace, where the Saudi crown prince warmly received the Pakistani premier. The two sides exchanged views on regional peace, security challenges and ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During the discussions, particular focus was placed on the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States. Both leaders emphasised the importance of dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts, reiterating their commitment to promoting stability in the region. Pakistan’s role in facilitating talks was also part of the conversation, reflecting Islamabad’s increasing diplomatic engagement amid heightened tensions.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was also present during the meeting, underscoring the high-level nature of the engagement. The leaders agreed to maintain close coordination on regional developments and to enhance cooperation across political, economic and security domains.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia a day earlier as part of a broader official tour that includes visits to Türkiye and Qatar. The visit aims to deepen Pakistan’s ties with key regional partners while addressing pressing geopolitical issues, particularly the Middle East crisis.

Upon arrival in Jeddah, the prime minister and his delegation were received by senior Saudi officials, including the deputy governor of the Makkah region and Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share longstanding strategic relations built on economic cooperation, defence collaboration and shared interests in regional stability. The latest meeting reflects continued efforts by both countries to coordinate closely on critical regional and international matters.
