According to an official statement, applications have been invited for the scholarships through the Punjab Education Endowment Fund. The programme is designed to support deserving students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue education in leading institutions across Pakistan.

The initiative has been widely welcomed in Balochistan, with appreciation expressed for Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Officials say the scholarships reflect a growing collaboration between provinces to improve educational opportunities nationwide.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti described the programme as a significant step toward enhancing educational standards and ensuring equal access for students from remote and disadvantaged areas. He noted that such initiatives would help bridge the gap in educational resources and opportunities between provinces.

Bugti emphasised that education remains a fundamental right and a key driver of development. He added that providing scholarships to talented students would not only uplift individuals but also contribute to the overall progress of the province.

The programme will allow selected students from Balochistan to study in reputable institutions across the country, opening new avenues for academic and professional growth.

The development comes amid broader efforts by the federal government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, to invest in education and skills development, including plans to expand opportunities in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence.
