Russia and Ukraine accused each other of deadly overnight drone strikes on Saturday, leaving five people dead and over a dozen injured. In Russia, Yaroslavl Governor Mikhail Yevrayev reported one child killed and three others injured after a drone hit a residential building, while over 30 drones were shot down.
The Russian Defense Ministry said 155 Ukrainian drones were intercepted across 16 regions, including Yaroslavl and Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014. The attack damaged several residential and commercial buildings, with the child’s parents critically injured.

In Ukraine, Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said massive strikes targeted civilian and critical infrastructure in Odesa city. Two people, including a 9-year-old boy, were killed, and 12 others were injured. The roof of a four-story maternity hospital was among the buildings hit.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said over 60 drones were used in the Odesa attack. Additional strikes also hit the Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions, each reporting one death.

Ukraine’s Air Force claimed it shot down most of the drones launched by Russia, intercepting 252 of 273. Both sides continue to blame each other as the cross-border drone attacks escalate.
