The government had agreed to transfer former prime minister Imran Khan to hospital and completed arrangements, according to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf sources. Party officials said the plan included shifting him for medical treatment under agreed conditions. The development is significant amid ongoing concerns over his health and detention conditions.
According to party sources, the opposition demanded that Khan remain at Shifa International Hospital for at least 10 days. However, the government reportedly agreed to keep him there until treatment was completed. Officials set one condition that medical details would not be disclosed publicly. They also insisted that party workers would not be allowed to gather at the hospital.

Sources said arrangements for the transfer were finalized late Friday night. Vehicles for Khan and party leadership were reportedly prepared. Meanwhile, contact was made with Khan’s sisters to nominate a family representative. His sisters initially proposed Dr Asim and Dr Uzma as accompanying doctors.
However, the government did not accept those names, party sources claimed. Subsequently, Dr Barki’s name was suggested but was also rejected. The government then proposed Qasim Zaman as an alternative. Both Khan’s sisters and Qasim Zaman reportedly expressed concern over the proposal.

When no agreement was reached on the nominee, the government informed the party on Sunday night that the hospital transfer was no longer possible. Separately, party leaders met doctors at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. Party representatives pledged not to make public the details of their discussion with the doctors.
