LAHORE: Following an intense debate over non-inclusion of regional players in Quetta Gladiators, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to make it necessary for Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises to include at least one player from the region they are representing.
A meeting of PCB board of governors, chaired by PCB Chairman Najam Sethi, was held on Wednesday to discuss the matter of non-inclusion of regional players in PSL team Quetta Gladiators.
“PCB will make sure it for the 4th edition of PSL that franchises must pick at least one player from the region they are representing,” PCB chairman said after the meeting.
Sethi urged the PSL franchises to support this idea.
He also explained the initiatives taken by PCB to conduct all PSL matches in Pakistan.
“You’ll see half of the matches conducting in Pakistan by the fourth edition,” he said.
He also hinted that two or more teams would be included in PSL line up.
