Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on a one-day official visit, marking an important political engagement focused on national unity and solidarity during a sensitive security situation in Balochistan. Upon arrival, she was warmly received by Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, along with senior provincial officials, reflecting the significance of the visit at both federal and provincial levels.
Following her arrival, Maryam Nawaz proceeded to the Governor House, where she held a one-on-one meeting with the Balochistan governor to discuss inter-provincial cooperation and shared challenges. Moreover, the meeting emphasized the need for coordinated efforts between Punjab and Balochistan to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and promote political stability across regions.

During the visit, the Punjab chief minister met families of those martyred and injured in recent terrorist attacks, expressing sympathy and standing in solidarity with the affected communities. In addition, she assured them that the state remains committed to supporting victims and taking practical steps to improve security and counter violent extremism.
She also held discussions with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, focusing on the province’s current political climate and evolving security concerns. Furthermore, both leaders stressed the importance of sharing intelligence, strengthening law enforcement cooperation, and addressing long-term development issues that contribute to regional instability.

Maryam Nawaz was accompanied by Punjab ministers Marriyum Aurangzeb and Uzma Bukhari, along with the Punjab chief secretary, highlighting the administrative importance of the visit.
