Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran is ready for a “reassuring agreement” on uranium enrichment. He stressed that zero enrichment is not negotiable. Araghchi called negotiations the only way to resolve the nuclear issue and described talks with Washington as a “good start.”
He emphasized that Iran’s missile program is not subject to negotiation now or in the future. Araghchi called it a “defensive matter” and said Iran would respond if attacked. He clarified that Iran does not target neighboring countries but could strike US bases in the region.

Araghchi noted that building trust between Tehran and Washington is a long road. He said enriched uranium will not leave Iran, and the level of enrichment depends on the country’s needs. He described the ongoing indirect talks as limited exclusively to the nuclear file.
The Iranian foreign minister said a second round of talks with the US is expected soon, though no date has been set. He said the process could continue in Muscat, Oman, and stressed the importance of overcoming mutual distrust. Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi called the talks “very serious” and said they clarified positions.
